Body Of Missing Virginia Man Found In Theodore Roosevelt National Park

The body of a hiker missing in Theodore Roosevelt National Park since Sunday has been found.

Dan Olszewski, 48, of Midlothian, Virginia, had gone out for a day hike on Sunday. He was reported missing Monday morning by his employer.

Park officials say the man's body was found off of the Maah Dah Hey Trail in the southwestern part of the park’s South Unit. He was spotted by a helicopter crew from Minot Air Force Base. The body was taken to the North Dakota State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Mr. Olszewski was said to be an avid and experienced hiker who was very organized and prepared for outdoor activities.

It is really a shocking news for hikers of Roosevelt National park as such incidence is rare with seosoned hikers like Dan. whatever the cause of this accident may be, people should take sufficient precaution while participating in such adventurous activity. The first advice for any hiker is to never hike alone. Whatever the depth of our knowledge or however experienced we may be, still nature is above the capability of our understanding. Loving nature is one thing but underestimating or challenging the risk posed by nature should certainly not be advisable.
