Fans of Big Bend, Carlsbad Caverns, and Guadalupe Mountains national parks can take a deep dive into the history of these three amazing places thanks to NPSHistory.com. The site this month has made roughly 30 studies for these parks available to the public.

NPS Reflections, the site's monthly featurette, looks at the origins of Guadalupe Mountains, which turns 50 in 2022, via a paper presented by the late Hal Rothman at the 2004 Guadalupe Mountains Symposium.

Two debuts on the site this month: more issues of Park Service Bulletin (1935-1938), and a ‘soft’ roll-out of back issues of National Parks magazine (by National Parks Conservation Association) from 1942-present. The site is planning a formal rollout of the magazines in January update.

Six more studies from the Scientific Monograph Series (Nos. 13-18) are now online, along with a range of subjects and parks to round out 2021.

Returning this month to ParksCanadaHistory.com are the five-volume set of The Underwater Archaeology of Red Bay: Basque Shipbuilding and Whaling in the 16th Century (both the English and French language editions). Parks Canada has graciously allowed NPSHistory.com to restore these superbly created studies to the online library.
