Favorite park or "go to" park: Yellowstone and Glacier are tied for my favorites. But I'm also extremely fond of two beautiful national seashores: Cape Hatteras and Assateague Island. Oh...but then there's also Yosemite!
Favorite outdoor activity in the parks: You just can't beat a ranger-led hike for scenery, exercise and smaller details about the surrounding nature that you might have otherwise overlooked.
What the Traveler means to you: I love producing and writing podcasts for the Traveler. In this role, I have the privilege of interviewing park superintendents, interpretive rangers, scientists, researchers, artists and others who are doing important work for our national parks -- work that the average visitor might not be aware of but is making a huge difference in the betterment of our parks just the same. Our Traveler podcast format offers our guests the luxury of time to thoroughly explore their topics and share their insight, deep knowledge and contagious enthusiasm. Of course, we interview experts and happenings in the large national parks -- Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon. But we also have the ability to do pieces on lesser-traveled units in the park system, including San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, George Washington Carver National Monument and Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine. Our podcasts offer listeners another means of increasing their awareness of the hopeful research, complex issues, and the conservation and artistic endeavors happening behind the scenes in our national parks. I invite you to take a listen.
