Bleached earless lizards may have a covering over where its ear openings should be, but it still has a very well-developed inner ear which allows it to hear things. Because of their camouflage against the white background of sand at White Sands National Park in New Mexico, you need to watch where you walk. You can see these lizards scuttling around along the Dune Life Nature Trail.
