Acadia National Park

Each year, hundreds of people turn out on a fall day to clean up Acadia National Park's carriage roads. This year the Take Pride In Acadia Day falls on Saturday, November 3, and upwards of 500 volunteers are expected to head to the park.

Craftsmanship flowed through the main building and surrounding cabins the Civilian Conservation Corps built above the Current River in the hill country of southeastern Missouri. But the passage of nearly nine decades has taken a toll on the Big Springs Lodge and Cabins at today's Ozark National Scenic Riverways, where the National Park Service shuttered the buildings four years ago until they could be rehabilitated.

From Acadia National Park and Cape Cod National Seashore to Yellowstone National Park, scientific conferences touching on everything from wildlife and water quality to historic preservation and the human footprint are coming to the parks.

How can you remotely monitor water quality in a place such as Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park? It requires an investment of sorts, in both dollars and equipment. And that's one area where Canon U.S.A. has gotten involved with Friends of Acadia.
