Raffle of Some Of Montana's Best Photography Will Benefit Glacier National Park, Waterton Lakes National Park

Share

A raffle of gorgeous outdoor photography shot in Montana's wild places will help raise funds for the non-profit Headwaters Montana group to continue its efforts protecting the Glacier-Waterton Lakes region.

Grassroots efforts are not without their expenses, and when it comes to advocating for a large swath of landscape that includes Glacier National Park and its Canadian neighbor, Waterton Lakes National Park, well, you can probably imagine the financial outlay.

Fortunately, a group of Montana photographers is coming together to raise money for Headwaters Montana, a non-profit organization that works day-in, day-out to protect the North Fork of the Flathead River, Glacier, the Waterton Glacier International Peace Park, and the sprawling Crown of the Continent Ecosystem.

On Friday, March 11, at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish, Montana, the works of Dee Blank, Bret Bouda, Tony Bynum, Dave Carlson, Dave Clough, Doug Dye, Nick Fucci, Sumio Harada, Tammie Lee, Diane Miller, Steve Mitchell, Rosella Mosteller and Greg Thigpen will be on display. Titled Wild Places -- A Celebration of Montana's Wilderness Heritage, the event will feature a slide show of their collective works, and each photographer has donated a photograph to be raffled off, with the proceeds going to Headwaters Montana.

Unfortunately, you have to be present to win. But if you agree this is a good cause, I don't think the folks at Headwaters Montana would mind if you sent them a donation directly. (And don't forget, it is tax deductible!)

For those who can make it to Whitefish on March 11, it costs $10 to get in the door to view the photographs, and raffle tickets are going for $5 for one, $20 for five, or $50 for 20.

There will be an artists' reception, appetizers, adult beverages, and, of course, the slide show. If you have questions, call 837-0783 OR 862-0438.

Thank you Kurt for posting this wonderful event. I've had the pleasure of presenting here in the past and the people are wonderful. The images will surprise even the most traveled among us. I hope that people attend, it's a lot of fun and a great place to meet new people and mingle with some Montana's best photographers.
