Due to a drop in pressure in the potable water distribution system, Olympic National Park in Washington state on Thursday issued a boil water advisory for the Kalaloch Lodge, Kalaloch Campground, and all park facilities in the Kalaloch area. Water samples have been collected and the boil water advisory is expected to be lifted within 24 to 48 hours.

A slow-moving smoldering eruption of Kīlauea volcano inside Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park continued in a remote area of the park Tuesday morning.

Possible problems with the roof of the Wawona Hotel in Yosemite National Park have prompted the National Park Service to close the venerable hotel in December to conduct a "comprehensive" assessment of the hotel's condition.
