Searchers continued looking Wednesday for a 55-year-old woman missing in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore/NPSMaps.com

Editor's note: This updates the story with the woman turning up.

A Wisconsin woman missing since last weekend in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore turned up Wednesday when she walked into the Little Beaver Campground.

Park officials had little information other than that Kara Moore, 55, of Milwaukee, turned up in the campground around 1:30 p.m. local time.

Ms. Moore was last seen hiking in the national lakeshore Friday evening. She was hiking with approximately 10 family members in the Beaver Creek Wilderness area of Pictured Rocks.

Park Service staff hoped to be able to provide more details after Ms. Moore was evaluated at a local hospital.

On Wednesday, the volunteer organization Michigan Backcountry Search and Rescue headed out to search the Beaver Basin area, while Pictured Rock rangers followed up on any unusual items reported by the public, such as discarded shoes, sandals, clothing, etc.
