Missing Hiker at Olympic National Park

David Galbraith, a Canadian, was found Thursday morning after getting lost while hiking in Olympic National Park/NPS handout

A Canadian man who got lost hiking in Olympic National Park was found late Thursday morning cold, tired, and hungry, but otherwise in good shape.

David Galbraith, 51, from Victoria, B.C., was located at the junction of the Barnes Creek and Aurora Ridge trails, about three miles south of the Storm King trail, park officials said.

Park officials said more than 20 people, aided by a helicopter and two dog teams, had searched the Mount Storm King area for the man.

Galbraith was last seen at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday when he separated from his hiking companion at the intersection of the Marymere Falls Trail and the Storm King Trail in the Lake Crescent area. The two had hiked together to Marymere Falls when Galbraith decided to hike the 2.2-mile Storm King trail while his companion continued back to the trailhead and parking area, a park release said.
