President Trump's decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate change accord is drawing criticism from park advocates and businesses tied to national parks, as well as pledges to reduce carbon footprints and praise for states that are focused on renewable energy.

Last week, President Trump launched an unprecedented assault on America’s public lands when he ordered Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to evaluate whether dozens of national monuments should be rescinded or reduced in size. It wasn't the first such attack, and more times than not in the past the same voices that once warned of economies destroyed by lands protection come to see that there’s more value in protecting a place than stripping it of minerals and trees.

Little more than a week after Grand Teton National Park rangers were called upon to rescue a backcountry skier, they were summoned again to save the life of another skier in the park. This time, however, it took a defibrillator to shock the man's heart back to life.

A Colorado skier who spent two cold, snowy nights in the backcountry of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming after leaving an adjoining ski resort was rescued Wednesday.
