Drone Pilot At Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park Tasered By Law Enforcement Officer

Roughly once a week, sometimes more often, a drone pilot uses the airshed of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park to launch his hobby, only to be told it's not permitted. While most say OK and go away, a law enforcement ranger used his taser the other day to subdue one pilot who tried to flee into the night.

Acadia Then And Now: 40 Years Is Too Long Between Visits

As I gazed out on the bay and up to the roof of Acadia National Park, it was hard to believe that it had been 40 years since I first set foot on Mount Desert Island. I was only about nine or 10 years old at the time, and on my very first trip to a national park. I didn't understand Acadia National Park, or know what to expect. To me it was just our family vacation.

Lava Lake Rising At Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park

Both Yellowstone National Park and Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park contain magma. The difference is that at Hawai'i Volcanoes, you can see the molten rock burbling in a lake.

Forest Service Opens Scoping Period For Development On South Rim Of Grand Canyon

A project that could see more than 2,000 housing units and several million square feet of commercial space reach to within a half-mile or so of Grand Canyon National Park could also impact groundwater flows that feed the canyon's springs and hanging gardens, according to conservation groups working to raise public opposition to the project.
