Missing Backpacker In Olympic National Park Turns Up

Hunter Fraser, a California man reported overdue from a backpacking trip in Olympic National Park, has been found/NPS HO

A backpacker from California reported missing in Olympic National Park in Washington last week has turned up.

A park release said 44-year-old Hunter Fraser, who had been missing since June 7, hiked out via the Dosewallips River Trail on Saturday with the assistance of other hikers. He was driven to Quilcene, Washington, where his family, park personnel, and medical responders met him. 

Fraser had planned a 40-mile backpacking trip and intended to be back in Seattle on June 7. He was reported overdue by a family member late in that day. 

No further details were released.
