Mandatory Mask Wearing Could Be Coming To Your Favorite National Park

Share

Visitors to some national parks could be required to wear face masks inside buildings if the parks they're visiting are "(I)n areas of substantial or high community transmission" of the Covid virus.

That requirement took effect Wednesday following new guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

  • In areas of substantial or high community transmission, agencies must require all Federal employees, onsite contractors, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask inside of Federal buildings. As of (Tuesday), that includes the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Federal employees, onsite contractors, and visitors who are not fully vaccinated also need to continue to physically distance consistent with CDC guidance.

A list of affected parks was not released.
