Body Found At Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Share

A body of a young man found on a beach at Cape Hatteras National Seashore on Wednesday could be that of a teenager who went missing in the ocean on Saturday, though an autopsy will be needed to make a positive identification.

A park release said the body was discovered just after 7 a.m. near Buxton, North Carolina. It was found roughly a mile-and-a-half north of the jetties in Buxton where a teenage male swimmer was last seen Saturday evening.

The man's death was believed to be water-related and not the result of a shark attack. An autopsy was to be performed Thursday.
