2015 is months away, but that doesn't mean you can start your job search for next summer. Cape Lookout National Seashore in North Carolina will soon announce its seasonal jobs that you can apply for.

Cape Lookout typically hires 15 or more summer seasonal employees each year. Positions will be announced in the coming weeks at www.USAJobs.gov. Announcements are generally open 14-21 days, so checking the site frequently is necessary. Applications must be completed online by the closing date of the announcement.

Positions may be part-time or full-time and are generally seasonal or temporary. For the 2015 summer season, the following positions may be available:

* Biological Science Technicians-monitor activity and take actions to protect shorebirds, sea turtles, and other wildlife within the seashore.

* Park rangers and park guides (Interpretation & Education)-works in the park's visitor centers and at the Cape Lookout National Seashore Lighthouse. They provide information to visitors and educational programs to groups.

* Visitor Use Assistants-works in the park's contact center and collect fees.

* Park rangers (Law Enforcement)-protect both visitors and the park's assets.

* Maintenance mechanic-repairs and maintains the park's outboard engines, heavy equipment, and vehicles.

Support National Parks Traveler

Your support for the National Parks Traveler comes at a time when news organizations are finding it hard, if not impossible, to stay in business. Traveler's work is vital. For nearly two decades we've provided essential coverage of national parks and protected areas. With the Trump administration’s determination to downsize the federal government, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s approach to public lands focused on energy exploration, it’s clear the Traveler will have much to cover in the months and years ahead. We know of no other news organization that provides such broad coverage of national parks and protected areas on a daily basis. Your support is greatly appreciated.
