We're going to Denali this summer.
Let's see. Two years ago we went to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Rocky Mountain National Parks. Last year we went to Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Grand Canyon National Parks. This year we are going to Yosemite. In between all the majors we visited many National Monuments, Forests, and Recreation Areas. I'm still kinda particular to the Pine Barrens National Preserve in my backyard though. I can go there every day.
Isle Royale, Voyageurs & Mammoth Cave
My husband and I are heading to Glacier NP in July to celebrate in its Centennial, stopping at Yellowstone for a couple of days first. It's a LONG drive from Texas, approximately *22 hours from our house to the "Old House" (Old Faithful Inn)! In September we're flying into Calgary and spending 8 days at Banff and Jasper in British Columbia.
We too are Texans and travelling to Glacier NP in July 2010. We're leaving East Texas July 5th for a 3 month trip, pulling an RV. Will also visit Mt. Rushmore, Olympia NP (Wash.), Crater Lake (Oregon), Oregon Coast, Yosemite, Redwoods, Zion, Bryce, Canyonland and any other NP along the way.
My travel buddy and I are heading (in just a couple of weeks) to Moab, UT to visit Arches anc Canyonlands. We are also heading over to visit Colorado NM at Grand Junction. I can't wait! We have no children and love to travel to the parks not in the summer. The crowds are less and pace is slower so that we can get more enjoyment out of each and every one.
We're loading up the kids and taking a road trip across the western states. We'll be visiting Fossil Butte, Promontory Summit, Great Basin, Yosemite, Kings Canyon/Sequoia, Pt. Reyes, Muir Woods, Golden Gate, Death Valley, Lake Mead, Zion, Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches and Colorado NM. It's our first time to visit many of these NP sites and we're really forward to it.
Sleeping Bear Dunes in May, Apostle Islands and Pictured Rocks in August.
Our big trip in June is going to be the same as last year to three of Canada's "Parc National": Fundy (New Brunswick), Gros Morne (Newfoundland), and Terra Nova (Newfoundland). We realized we missed too much on the last trip. Hopefully next spring it'll be back to the west side of the continent.
Denali, Kenai Fjords and Wrangell St. Elias! This will be our first trip to Alaska and we can't wait!
You will love it! Wrangell-St. Elias was our favorite.
In June I'm heading to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve and Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado.
Looks like everyone has some great plans for this summer! We are heading to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. We won't be making that 3500 mile drive from Greenville, SC until after Labor Day though. Just trying to stay out of everyone's way :)
I'm heading back to Alaska again...this time with friends in a motor home (no tent camping this time!).
Along the way, we'll be spending several days each in Banff, Jasper, Denali, Olympic, Mt. Rainier, Crater Lake, Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Teddy Roosevelt.
We leave June 14, back sometime in late October...can't wait to get going!

Since I have to be on the East Coast in May, we're going to Shenandoah. Truthfully, the western parks are my favorites, but I think we'll still have a good time camping out. Hope we don't freeze.
Sadly, and for reasons somewhat out of my control, I'm probably going to have to limit my NPS consumption this year to local sites like Muir Woods NM, Golden Gate NRA, and Point Reyes NS.
We too must stay local but there is never a bad day in a NP unit.
National Park of American Samoa this summer. My wife is on a business trip there and I'll be joining her. I think it'll be a great adventure - as well as very tiring travel. Six hours to Hawaii, several hour layover, six further hours to Pago Pago.
What a great site for a "business" trip. :)
Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion
We are headed to the Blue Ridge Parkway in April for some great hiking and wildflower viewing. Cannot wait!
The last week in May we are headed off to Yosemite NP by way of the California Zephyr to Sacramento.Planning on visiting Sequoia NP and traveling the PCH down to San Diego.
Grand Teton and Glaicier National Park!!!
I live in CO and am taking my 2 yr old son on a road trip west through Canyonlands and Bryce, then out to Yosemeti and Redwoods, then back to Yellowstone and then home. We visit Rocky Mountain all summer long.
I'm heading to every park within a 5 hour drive of Capitol Reef NP: Arches, Canyonlands, Canyon de Chelly, Navajo, Mesa Verde, etc... I'm going to enjoy living in the west! I'm also hoping to head back east to see family and go to Shenandoah and Assateague Island to visit co-workers.
In all these comments no one mentioned coming to Capitol Reef....I'm so hurt that no one wants to come to my park!
We visited Capital Reef in 2008 - loved it! We hiked, picked apples in the orchards, had pie and took tons of pictures! My favorite is the old barn...

If you have the opportunity while in Glacier NP try and catch David Walburn performing there! He does 3 different shows, one on Lewis & Clark, another on Montana and my favorite is Cabin Song which chronicles through songs, stories and photos him homestedaing and building a cabin in Alaska with 3 friends right out of college! A wonderful way to cap off a perfect day!

My original plan was to visit Utah, including Capitol Reef, but other things got in the way and now I'm off to Shenandoah. So if I had my way, I'd be winging my way to Utah instead of Newark Airport. And by the way, I'll be spending the summer at Virgin Islands National Park cause that's where I live.
Currently at Padre Island Natl Seashore (also Aransas NWR - saw the Whooping Cranes) - this summer to Pictured Rocks and Sleeping Bear Dunes Natl Lakeshores. Love the water!
Same picks as PeterB above, but a month earlier in July - Crater Lake and Redwoods. My wife and I both have never been to the northwest (we live in St. Louis). Although we will be staying west of the Lake in Union Creek. Will gladly take advantage of the amenities at the Lodge as a day-tripper, however. ;)

Glad to see a fellow St Louisan on here! I was born and raised there myself, in the inner city, my folks and our oldest daughter are still in the area (St Charles County). Have a wonderful time at Crater Lake, that one is still on our bucket list!
Taking my 7 year old Grandson to Yellowstone. His first National Park Visit.
Headed to Cape Lookout and Cape Hatteras National Seashores, Ft. Raleigh National Historical Park, and Wright Brothers National Memorial in September. And as always, Grand Teton and Yellowstone all summer long.
Definitely Sequoia/Kings Canyon. Hopefully Olympic. Probably Joshua Tree. And many more possiblities incluiding Zion come fall.
I'll be moving to Los Angeles in August/September. I'm looking forward to hitting up Joshua Tree and Death Valley ASAP--hopefully this year. Will be great to be so close to Sequoia/Kings Canyon and Yosemite too!
Looks like this summer I'll also be spending a lot of time at Lake Powell as my fiance is now working at Bull Frog. He has access to kayaks so I'm looking for some great trips that he and I can take from the Bullfrog Marina. I'm an experienced kayaker but he is not so be easy on us!
