Lodging In North Cascades National Park

There are a few, but not many, brick-and-mortar lodging choices within the North Cascades National Park Complex in Washington State. There are also lodging options in gateway towns just outside the park.

It is, indeed, a base camp from which one may plan their day(s) exploring the North Cascades landscape, canoeing on the lake, or just sitting and relaxing on one of the many benches and chairs around the campus while learning from the knowledgeable staff about their surroundings.

Ross Lake Resort

Open early June through October 31st, this popular resort of 15 floating cabins on the shoreline of Ross Lake at Ross Lake National Recreation Area (a part of the North Cascades National Park Complex) offers visitors the chance to see the northeastern-most portion of the park while fishing, boating, hiking, or just relaxing and enjoying the view.

Because of the small number of cabins as well as the resort’s popularity, getting a reservation entails joining a lottery list for the year you are looking to stay. So, plan ahead – far, far ahead.

All cabins are completely furnished and include kitchens, bathrooms, electricity, and hot and cold running water. Towels, bedding, tableware, pots, and pans are provided. Propane grills are shared by two cabins. With no on-site restaurant, guests must bring their own food. There is no charge for children under 4 years of age.

The resort offers four styles of cabins:

  • Little Cabin (Max 4 persons; $270/night, 1-2 persons, $22/night each additional person)
  • Modern Cabin (Max 6 persons; $300/night, 1-2 persons, $22/night each additional person)
  • Private Bunkhouse (Max 8-10 persons; $375/night, 1-6 persons, $22 per night each additional person)
  • Peak Cabin (Max 9 persons; $480/night, 1-4 persons, $22/night each additional person)

Note: The lottery list will open on January 1, 2025.
