Getting To Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park in northwest Wyoming is one big park with four road entrances. The park's main roadways, Highway US 89/191 and Highway US 26/287, are plowed and open for winter travel from the town of Jackson to Flagg Ranch just south of Yellowstone National Park. Other roads to and around the park close sometime around November, reopening after May. You can click here to find information about these roads, including seasonal closures and construction.

If you plan on flying and then renting a vehicle, the nearest airport is the Jackson Hole Airport, servicing United, American, Delta, and Alaska Air.

There are commercial services offering bus and shuttle transportation to and from parts of Grand Teton National Park. Alltrans offers a full-day Grand Teton Tour for $245 per person. Grand Teton Lodge Company offers complimentary shuttle service for guests staying at Jackson Lake Lodge and Colter Bay Village to the South Jenny Lake Visitor Center and the town of Jackson. Note: this shuttle is not wheelchair accessible. Commercial tours into the park include Teton Tour Guides ($175 per person), Teton Excursions (full-day and multi-day tours), and Teton Wilderness Tours ($165 - $435 per person).

Because of the park’s popularity – particularly during the summer season – it might be difficult to snag a parking lot at whatever area you intend to spend the day. You can check the parking status by clicking here.

The nearest town to the park is Jackson Hole, where you will find dining, lodging, grocery, and fuel options. There are also electric vehicle (EV) chargers within the park, itself, at Colter Bay Village and both Signal Lake Campground and Signal Lake Lodge, according to plugshare.com.
