Frequent breaks in the Grand Canyon's Transcanyon Waterline have crews searching for a new water source/NPS file

The Transcanyon Water Pipeline at Grand Canyon National Park is a real maintenance problem. Have you see similar maintenance woes during your park travels? Show us!/NPS

Ok, travelers, this is a real participation request we're making: Please show us your national park photos of any maintenance issues in the parks you visit.

As you know, the National Park Service has a deferred maintenance backlog of roughy $12 billion worth of projects. Some are just comestic issues, some could affect visitor and employee safety, some could constitute demolition by neglect.

Congress needs to know about these situations and needs to take responsibility for providing the Park Service with the resources needed to address the backlog. Your photos of pressing maintenance needs in the parks can help get that message across.

So please, post them onto this story, or send them to us at news at nationalparkstraveler.org. We'll insert the most glaring photos in our photo window at the top of the homepage.
