Having a cabin with a roaring fire to return to after a long day in a national park is a great way to top off the day. And in Olympic National Park, you'll be able to do that weekends this winter if you can reserve one of the Roosevelt Fireplace Cabins at Lake Crescent.

These cabins, just four in number, are among the most desired lodgings in the park. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, these cabins offer a warm and luring fireplace - perfect for settling in and reading a book - and lake or mountain views that are indescribable.

All Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages are located along the shores of Lake Crescent. The Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages are available daily during the Summer season and weekends-only (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in the Winter. Winter rates are $210.50 per night.

* Two-bedroom Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages (two) include two double beds in one bedroom and one queen bed in the other. These cottages feature a fireplace, a full bathroom, a microwave, a mini-fridge, and lots of tranquility (no TV or telephone).

* One-Bedroom Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages (two) include two queen beds in the bedroom, a fireplace, a shower-only bathroom, a microwave, a mini-fridge, and no intrusions of a TV or telephone.
