Cape Hatteras National Seashore Looking To Expand Commercial Services

Cape Hatteras National Seashore on North Carolina's Outer Banks is looking to add some commercial services to the seashore, such as guided waterfowl hunting, more interpretive programs, yoga classes, and maybe surfing lessons. National Park Service Offers Sea Turtle Nest Excavation Programs In August And September

This August and September, Cape Hatteras National Seashore is offering park visitors an opportunity to observe excavations of recently hatched sea turtle nests. During an excavation, biologists will dig up the hatched nest, count empty eggshells, and collect un-hatched eggs for research. Live and dead hatchlings are occasionally found during these excavations.
