Stewart L. Udall Award

The Western National Parks Association in November 2019 honored the Traveler for how it keeps the public aware of what's going on in the National Park System.

George Hartzog Award

In 2017 the Coalition to Protect America's National Parks this award to the Traveler for the approach it takes in covering the National Park System and National Park Service. Three years earlier, in 2014, Coalition recognized Kurt Repanshek's work by making him an honorary member.

George Wright Society Communications Award

The George Wright Society honored the Traveler with its 2015 Communication Award for "excellence in communication, interpretation, or related areas pertaining to the purposes of the Society." The award is "given specifically to recognize outstanding efforts in communicating highly technical or controversial park-related subjects to the public in a clear and understandable manner."
