Interior Secretary Doug Burgum hopes to enlist the public in identifying interpretive materials in the National Park System that disparage Americans past or living or which contain content that detracts from viewpoints of scenic grandeur.

Frequent national park visitors are often aware of potential dangers such as wild animals, hot weather, and getting lost on hiking trails. But ahead of the busy summer season, park officials at national seashores and national lakeshores are warning of something that might not be as familiar: Rip currents.

Great Basin National Park’s Lower Lehman Creek Campground has closed to facilitate a major renovation and expansion expected to improve the visitor experience and expand year-round camping opportunities in the park.
