Ever wonder what it’s like to work in a fire tower?

A Day Not Subtracted, a documentary filmed at the watch on Schoolhouse Peak in Redwood National Park, won a National Student Production Award earlier this month from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The 13-minute film, shot during a Documentary Explorers Camp by high school students at NW Documentary in partnership with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, profiles the history of fire towers and details the tasks of a fire lookout.

The award was given in the category of High School Long Form, Non-Fiction.
