Voyageurs National Park’s Tour Boat Reservations Available Now

Share

You can start planning your vacation to Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota now by reserving a seat on the park's tour boat, Voyageur.

Park staff will be offering 2021 boat tour programs in a limited format of 25 percent capacity, or 12 passengers per tour. Capacity may increase as local health indicators allow.

The 2-hour Discover Rainy Lake Cruise ($25 for adults, $15 for ages 3-16, $3 for 2 and under) takes visitors in search of abandoned gold mines, abundant wildlife, and a historic commercial fish camp, while the 1.5-hour Little American Island Tour ($20, $10 and $3) will give visitors a glimpse of the area’s mining past on a quarter-mile ranger-guided (accessible) walk.

Both tours will depart from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center every Wednesday and Friday beginning June 23 through August 25. Reservations become available on recreation.gov today. Visitors can purchase tickets by going to the Voyageurs National Park Tours page on www.recreation.gov, or by calling the National Call Center at (877) 444-6777.

It only starts on June 23??

As I work on my Midwestern National Parks travel plans, I have learned that the season is very short up there.

Plan early and be flexible.
