Search Under Way For Missing Man In Shenandoah National Park

A search was under way Wednesday for a Virginia man who failed to return from a weekend trip to Shenandoah National Park.

A park release identified the missing man as Tyler Keefer, a 21-year-old Front Royal, Virginia, area man.

Mr. Keefer was reported missing on Monday around noon. The last known location point for the young man was believed to be the Dickey Ridge Trailhead on Saturday. Mr. Keefer’s bicycle was found at the trailhead, and he may have been hiking in the area that afternoon.

Tyler Keefer is described as a male with brown hair, a mustache, beard and brown eyes. He stands 6-foot-one and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Park officials said he might be wearing plain shorts, a T-shirt, and hiking boots and might be carrying a small black backpack.

Anyone with any information about Tyler Keefer is asked to call 1-800-732-0911.
