"Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area. Muster grounds for 1,000 patriot militia on September 25, 1780. Mostly mounted on horseback the men left here heading east in search of Major Patrick Ferguson and his army of tory militia. Operated by Tennessee State Parks and containing a reconstructed fort, visitor center, museum, special events, and trail segments."
