While there are numerous lodging options in the larger communities outside of Lassen Volcanic National Park in California, Drakesbad Guest Ranch in Warner Valley and Manzanita Camping Cabins are the only in-park lodging choices.
Drakesbad Guest Ranch, operated by the park’s concessioner Snow Mountain LLC, is located in the southeast corner of the park and offers 19 lodge and bungalow units, a swimming pool, guided horseback rides, fishing, and access to hiking trails. Depending upon the type of accommodation and occupancy, prices range from $220 to $464 per night, with added charges for additional adults and children above the listed occupancy numbers. Due to damage sustained from the 2021 Dixie Fire, the guest ranch is closed for the 2024 season.
Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins are rustic, bare-bones cabins next to Manzanita Lake near Lassen’s north entrance. One-room, two-room, and bunkhouse-style cabins are available, as well as ADA accessible cabins. Each cabin is furnished with a bed and three-inch firm mattress, lockable door, picnic table, fire ring and a bear-proof food storage locker. The one- and two-room cabins also have a table and chairs. No other bedding or linens are provided and there is no electricity, water, or bathroom/showers in the cabins. The 2025 season runs May 28 – October 10, and advance reservations may be made on a six-month rolling basis through recreation.gov, beginning November 28, 2024.
Groceries, supplies, gifts, gasoline, a pay phone, ATM, laundromat, and hot showers can be located at the nearby Manzanita Lake Camper Store.
