Less than 5 miles across, and at some points less than 100 feet deep, tidal action can be very powerful in this area of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. North Rim Operations At Grand Canyon To Idle October 19

With the months turning quickly on the calendar, it won't be long before the snow flies in higher elevations. With that in mind, Grand Canyon National Park officials have announced that facilities on the North Rim will begin day-use operations on October 19. On that date, the Grand Canyon Lodge will close and no overnight accommodations, including camping, will be available to visitors
