Running The Volcanoes At Petroglyph National Monument

The distinctive silhouettes of the “Three Sisters” are an Albuquerque landmark, low peaks on the high West Mesa. Part of Petroglyph National Monument, this free day use area is jointly managed by National Park Service and the city. Instead of turning left out of the visitor center parking lot to go find ancient rock carvings, I turn right in search of volcanoes.

Historic Collection On Women’s Rights Donated To NPS, LOC

A historic collection of items spanning women’s suffrage and the movement for women’s equality has been donated by the National Women's Party to the Library of Congress and National Park Service. This gift comes as the country celebrates 100 years of women's constitutional right to vote and ensures public access to a trove of records about the history of the women’s rights movement in the United States.

Less than 5 miles across, and at some points less than 100 feet deep, tidal action can be very powerful in this area of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.
