Great Smoky Mountains Association Contributes More Than $2 Million To Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park may have experienced an eclipse in 2017, but the support the park received from one of its largest retail partners was anything but eclipsed, with more than $2 million contributed to a vast array of activities during the year by Great Smoky Mountains Association.

For example, utilize the parks and monuments to prove their value, treat them with care to extend their life, and refuse to support parties that ignore issues such as environmental degradation. It is critical that we our protect national parks and monuments against threats of political interference, big-oil targeting, and global climate change so that we can continue to enjoy them and the services they provide.

$2.6 million In Maritime Heritage Grants Help Fund Projects In 14 States And The Northern Mariana Islands

The National Park Service has distributed $2.6 million in maritime heritage grants to help fund 34 preservation and education projects in 14 states and the Northern Mariana Islands. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration, the grants support projects that teach about and preserve sites and objects related to the United States' maritime history.
