Currently one of the largest, most ambitious projects in the National Park System is the rejuvenation of not just the spiderweb of trails around Jenny Lake at Grand Teton National Park but of the entire area.

A fire Friday afternoon raged through the headquarters complex of Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania and destroyed three buildings before the flames could be put out. None of the staff or volunteers at the national memorial were injured, but officials fear some of the archival and curatorial collections, including the flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol on September 11, might have been destroyed.

Padre Island National Seashore in Texas is home to one of the largest nestings of rare Kemp's Ridley sea turtles. And it also sees a number of other turtle species throughout the year, as well. And sometimes, when those turtles show up in the winter months, cold snaps can stun them. You can learn how to deal with a stunned turtle by attending a park lecture later this month.
