But with 418 units out there, we can't be everywhere. With that understood, we could use your help in pointing out stories in the parks that deserve coverage.

Dingmans Falls At Delaware Water Gap NRA Reopens On Halloween

The Dingmans Falls boardwalk trail at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Pennsylvania was set to reopen at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The popular visitor destination and local favorite was hit hard by damages from back-to-back winter storms in March 2018, and as a result was closed for the spring and summer while work crews made repairs.

Traveler's View: Politics Vs. Public Interest In National Parks

While the National Park Service Organic Act directs the National Park Service to be a guardian of the parks and the flora and fauna within them, politics don't always make that easy. Proof of that can be seen in Alaska, where the agency has done a complete reversal in trying to protect wolves, bears, coyotes and other predators from rampant hunting and trapping.

Ponca Low-Water Bridge At Buffalo National River To Be Restored

Restoration and stabilization of the historic Ponca low-water bridge is getting underway this week. Built in 1943 by the Works Progress Administration, the Ponca bridge made it possible for vehicles to cross the Buffalo River along the historic route to and from Jasper for several decades. Today, the low-water bridge is primarily used by paddlers, hikers, anglers, and swimmers to access the Buffalo River and area trails.

Scotts Bluff National Monument Visitor Center To Be Overhauled

A much-needed rehabilitation of the Scotts Bluff National Monument visitor center is scheduled to get underway in January and run for about nine months. During that time period, a trailer will be set up to handle visitor service and retail operations. The park will not close during the construction and all visitor services will be available to the public.
