Can you imagine skiing under the full moon at Whitefish Mountain Resort in northern Montana? You can do that later this month, and benefit Glacier National Park, during the annual Moonlight Dine & Ski for Glacier at the resort.
The ski resort will donate a portion of each ticket -- $67.85 for adults, $33.93 for kids 12 and under -- to the Glacier National Park Fund, which will use the money to support the national park.
The evening affair on Saturday, March 19, includes an open-air ride up on Chair 1 and dinner at 6 p.m. at the summit – all while enjoying the spectacular views of Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley under the full moon. Meet at the base of Chair 1 at 5:30 p.m. for the ride up to the summit of Big Mountain. Dine at an elevation of nearly 7,000 feet in the moonlit sky -- weather permitting, of course -- while overlooking the snowcapped peaks of Glacier National Park.
After dinner, you have the choice of skiing down the mountain with a ski instructor or riding back down on Chair 1.
Be sure to dress warm, bring a camera for some incredible moon shots and cash for no-host bar beverages. Go to this page for more information about this event and then call the Whitefish Mountain Resort at 406-862-2900 to make your advanced reservations and your dinner selection.
