Coming To The Aid Of National Parks Traveler

Share

With four weeks left in the National Parks Traveler's biggest fundraiser yet, readers and listeners are coming to the aid with donations and comments that show great support for the only editorially independent news organization focused entirely on national parks and protected areas.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 by January 1, and through Friday we stood at $66,500 in pledges and received donations. The revenue is needed to take the Traveler to the next level of its evolution by adding a small staff, expanding podcast and video reports from the parks, and producing more content around the science, history, culture, and yes, travel, tied to the National Park System.

So far, more than 150 readers and listeners from across the country have donated to support this 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organization, and their comments speak to their appreciation of the Traveler.

"Honest, balanced, and timely reporting. My family appreciates that!" wrote Richard Knight.

"As a refreshing voice of reason and accurate information, you are doing an outstanding job of protecting our Country's Heritage Lands!" said Rick.

"So love and appreciate all your articles. We are lucky to have your dedication," added Sara.

"Love your podcast! It's my favorite thing to do when driving and hiking with my dog," Yang told the Traveler.

"I enjoy and appreciate the National Parks Traveler podcast very much," Marilyn said in a note sent along with her donation.

"Thank you for the work you do. I'm a big fan!" wrote Ben.

Help Keep National Parks Traveler Keep You Informed On National Parks And Protected Areas

For those who have already donated, we are very grateful for your support and respect the accountability you hold us to in covering the National Park Service and the National Park System. For those on the fence when it comes to clicking on one of the donate buttons below, is there any other media source you can turn to that week in and week out every year provides coverage ranging from the latest Congressional debates around the Park Service and the threats facing many units of the National Park System to features that open up the wonders of places such as Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Kejimkujik National Park?

If you need more incentive, the national NewsMatch campaign to raise charitable dollars for nonprofit media has increased its matching grant from $10,000 to $13,000. Your support now in effect helps us turn that $3,000 carrot into $6,000.
