Canada Day is the perfect time to connect with nature, learn about Canada’s history and celebrate this great country with Parks Canada! To celebrate this day on July 1st, access to all national parks and national historic sites managed by Parks Canada will be free.
We have been getting ready to welcome visitors for this special day and have a wide range of exciting programs and services to share with Canadians and international visitors.
* For a truly “Canadian” experience, join ranges at the bike parade at Waterton Lakes National Park. Cyclists decorate their two-wheeled ride in red and white and bike through the picturesque Waterton village. The parade is followed by a flag-raising ceremony and birthday party at the Waterton Community Centre.
* There is no better way to celebrate Canada’s 149th birthday than experiencing some of the country’s most awe-inspiring scenery. Activities like strolling through Waterton village, biking along the Kootenai Brown Trail, or hiking one of our many scenic trails abound for those of all ages and abilities.
