More than 70 National Park Service sites help tell the story of the Civil War, from the opening shots at Fort Sumter to the surrender at Appomattox. To help young people understand this turbulent time in our nation’s history, Eastern National has published the Civil War Activity Book, featuring illustrations by noted cartoonist Bentley Boyd.
The activity book features games, puzzles, mazes, colorful illustrations, and historic facts. While reading the informative text, young people are invited to unscramble historic word puzzles, trace the route to freedom from a Florida plantation to the safety of the North, and to color the uniforms of Union and Confederate soldiers.
Along the way, readers will learn about the battles and battlefields, the heroic contributions of volunteers such as Clara Barton, and the many steps to reconstruction and knitting the North and South back together into a unified nation.
“We are pleased to offer this publication which will encourage children to learn about the Civil War,” said George Minnucci, chief executive officer of Eastern National. “The book presents information in a fun and exciting way, and includes puzzles, word searches and other activities that will engage kids and spark their interest.”
The Civil War Activity Book is available now for $6.95 on this site. For more information about the book and other Eastern National publications and products, please visit www.eParks.com or call 1-877-NAT-PARK (1-877-628-7275). Wholesale opportunities are available.
