Rocky Mountain National Park Celebrates International Migratory Bird Day With Special Events

With 2018 recognized as The Year Of The Bird, it should come as no surprise that some national parks are planning special activities to mark International Migratory Bird Day. At Rocky Mountain National Park, staff have scheduled two special events that visitors can take part in.

Moose Research Returning To Rocky Mountain National Park

Late last summer, Rocky Mountain National Park staff began a moose research project to better understand how moose use habitat in the national park. Moose presence has been increasing annually on both the east and west sides of the park, with recent reports showing animals observed in every major drainage in the park. Research will continue this summer to better understand moose behavior.

Though December is here, fires are still possible in the National Park System, as evidenced by one this week at Rocky Mountain National Park.
