You've probably seen one or two photos of Yosemite Falls before, but take a closer look at this shot, and you'll notice something a little different. Ask yourself, where was this shot taken? Not from the valley floor, not from Glacier Point, ... it was shot from a hang glider! The photographer provided me with this photo, and a brief explanation of how it was captured.
This photo was taken on June 2 '07 by me while floating past in a hang glider (which aside from rescue helicopters) is the only other aircraft allowed (with restrictions) in the park. The launch is at 7200 feet Glacier Point and the landing is at Swinging Bridge Meadow. A video from that flight can be seen in my profile here on YouTube. The complete trip is split into two video clips, part 1 and part 2.
