Sens. Feinstein And Boxer Work to Protect Channel Islands

U.S. Sens. Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, both Democrats from California, have relaunched their effort to stop U.S. Representative Duncan Hunter from turning part of Channel Islands National Park into a military hunting preserve.
The legislative jockeying has been going on for months and was just renewed earlier this year when the senators introduced legislation -- the Channel Islands National Park Management Act -- to reject Rep. Hunter's efforts. Earlier this week during a hearing of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources parks subcommittee Senator Feinstein urged her colleagues to support that legislation.
