About
I am a nature photographer, seeking to capture the beauty of mountains, wildlife and wild places in my images, and to inspire others to want to protect the earth's plants, animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. I am passionate about nature and wildlife and have spent as much time as possible in the national parks of the west, especially in Greater Yellowstone and in the color country of southern Utah. I have been drawn to nature, mountains, and wilderness all my life and have loved photography ever since my father gave me my first Brownie camera at the age of nine. My husband Randy and I launched our photography business in 2010 and sell prints, photo note cards, canvas wraps, and licensing rights to our nature images through Randy & Jean Bjerke Photography. Our work is carried in six stores and a gallery in three states, and is available through our website. Our images have appeared in calendars, newspapers, and a magazine spread. We have donated images to non-profit and environmental organizations. I am active on social media, and my blog highlights favorite images and the places they were made. In my previous life, I had a 30-year career in higher education fundraising.
