Restoration Of Ozark National Scenic Riverways Infrastructure Following Flood Takes Time

Work is proceeding at Ozark National Scenic Riverways to repair facilities that were damaged during last year's flooding at the park. While some heavily damaged locations will remain partially or totally closed, or operate with reduced amenities, much progress has been made and additional areas will be open in 2018, according to the National Park Service.

Explore Prairie Hollow Gorge At Ozark National Scenic Riverways

Join a National Park Service ranger this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Ozark National Scenic Riverways in Missouri for a discovery hike at Prairie Hollow Gorge Natural Area. Often called the “Jewel of the Riverways,” the area boasts some of the best panoramic views, glimpses of the geological past and diversity of flora and fauna in the Riverways.

Celebrate Haunting In The Hills At Alley Spring In Ozark National Scenic Riverways

Ozark National Scenic Riverways will bring the Ozark past to life during the Haunting in the Hills event to be held this coming weekend at Alley Spring. Fall is a season for gathering together and Alley Spring has long been a gathering place for inhabitants of the Ozark hills. This free event features storytelling, folkway demonstrations, hands-on activities, food vendors, traditional dancing, and bluegrass music.

Ozark National Scenic Riverways Plans Canoe And Kayak Clinics

Ozark National Scenic Riverways and Current River State Park in Missouri will be offering free paddling clinics on June 30, July 7, 14, 21, 28 and August 4. Instruction will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a "dry land basics" session and paddle stroke instruction on the lower lake at Current River State Park. Students will have the option to continue instruction on the river in the afternoon, paddling approximately 4 miles from Current River State Park to Round Spring with an instructor.
