Lake Chelan National Recreation Area is a part of the North Cascades Complex in Washington state. At the head of this 55-mile long lake is the small community of Stehekin, accessed via float plane, boat, or a 20+ mile hike.
Located at the northernmost tip of Lake Chelan in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, Stehekin is a remote community surrounded by the stunning scenery of forests, mountains, and rushing rivers of the North Cascades Complex. While you can't get there via car, you can get there by boat, plane, or foot.
A part of the North Cascades Complex, the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area in Washington State offers hiking, boating, swimming and photography opportunities surrounded by rugged mountain scenery.
