Interior, Wyoming Officials Reach Agreement On Hunting Wolves; Critics Say It Will Be Devastating

An agreement reached by officials from the Interior Department and the state of Wyoming, if allowed to stand, would make Yellowstone National Park a sanctuary for wolves. Most elsewhere in the state the animals could be shot on sight under the plan.

Grand Teton National Park Refines Bear-Watching Guidelines

With grizzly bears and people coming closer and closer to one another in the front country of Grand Teton National Park, officials have refined their guidelines as to how close people can be to wildlife. The need for the revisions arose as more and more visitors took to the roofs of their vehicles to photograph bears and, in at least two instances, bears took exception and charged the vehicles, according to park officials.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Agrees Whitebark Pines Need Help From Climate Change, But Will Have To Wait

Whitebark pine trees, a foundation species that grows high in the upper reaches of parks such as Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Glacier, Yosemite, and Kings Canyon, is in need of Endangered Species Act protection from climate change, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
