The EA assesses potential improvements for developed areas including those at Painted Canyon, Theodore Roosevelt National Park / NPS

Members of the public are invited to review and submit comments until September 14 on the Theodore Roosevelt National Park Facility Revitalization Plan (Plan) and Environmental Assessment (EA). The plan assesses potential improvements at developed areas of the park including Painted Canyon, South Unit in Medora, North Unit, Peaceful Valley Ranch, and the Elkhorn Ranch Unit. Your input is important and will help shape potential improvements at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

The Plan presents a range of potential planning concepts for visitor and administrative facilities in each of the above locations that address future needs, prioritize infrastructure investments, and leverage partnership opportunities. These investments may occur over the next 30 years and beyond. Implementing the Plan would help the park and its partners expand the preservation and understanding of President Theodore Roosevelt's story, philosophy, and conservation legacy.

The EA analyzes the potential environmental effects associated with implementing these improvements and also provides recommended mitigation measures and best practices for implementation. Improvements would be phased based on current priorities and future needs within the greater context of the park, availability of funding, and collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

Support National Parks Traveler

Your support for the National Parks Traveler comes at a time when news organizations are finding it hard, if not impossible, to stay in business. Traveler's work is vital. For nearly two decades we've provided essential coverage of national parks and protected areas. With the Trump administration’s determination to downsize the federal government, and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s approach to public lands focused on energy exploration, it’s clear the Traveler will have much to cover in the months and years ahead. We know of no other news organization that provides such broad coverage of national parks and protected areas on a daily basis. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Well gee, they could repair the park's scenic loop road that's been out for 3 years.  Shouldn't need an EA for that.
