Yellowstone Rangers Investigating Reports That Man Fired Shotgun At Wolves Chasing His Dog

Share

Discharging a firearm inside Yellowstone National Park is illegal, as is letting your dog run loose. So it's no surprise that rangers are looking into reports that a man broke both those rules when he took aim with his shotgun at some wolves said to be chasing his dog.

Acccording to park staff, the investigation began this past Saturday when the reports came in from the Sedge Bay area along the East Entrance Road.

"Law enforcement investigated the scene and found no evidence of injured wolves but they did find shotgun shells," staff said. "If you have any information about this incident, contact the Yellowstone Tip Line at 307-344-2132."

The territory of the Mollies Pack, which counts nearly 20 members, touches that part of Yellowstone Lake.
