Leaking Propane Canister And Cigarettes Don't Mesh At Joshua Tree National Park

Share

Don't try this at home/NPS

Lesson 1: Do not store a leaking propane tank in your car.

Lesson 2: If you ignore lesson 1, do not light a cigarette while you're sitting in your car.

Lesson 3: If you ignore lesson 1 AND lesson 2 and somehow survive, go to the hospital.

Rangers received a report of a visitor with burns to the face from a butane explosion. The visitor was transported to the hospital. This is what happens when you store a leaking propane tank in your car and light a cigarette! The visitor was inside the car when it blew up. -- Joshua Tree National Park Association.

Stupid is as stupid does.  Besides, everybody knows smoking is bad for your health.  And it ain't too good for your car, either.
