Sign up to spend June 24 counting butterflies at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas/NPS

The staff at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas invites you to join in a fun day of citizen science field research by counting butterflies in the Flint Hills on Saturday, June 24.

The butterfly survey is named in honor of prominent biologist and naturalist Marvin Schwilling, who was born and raised in Chase County, Kansas. Counts will occur in small groups led by experienced identifiers. Suggested attire includes hiking boots, a hat, and long pants.
