Big South Fork National River And Recreation Area Proposing Higher Camping Fees

Share

Higher camping fees are being proposed for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area/NPS

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is proposing to increase the nightly fee rates for all campsites at Bandy Creek and Blue Heron campgrounds.

Revenue generated from these fees will provide funding for projects such as replacing and upgrading outdated electrical pedestals in the campgrounds, installing new food storage lockers to protect wildlife and visitors, to offset the upcoming increase in fees for the reservation system, and prevent undercutting local businesses.

With the exception of the Bandy Creek group camp fee rate, this will be the first increase since 2007.

Bandy Creek Campground offers electric and water hook-up sites, tent sites, and two group camps. Blue Heron Campground offers electric and water hook-up sites.

These rates are proposed to take effect on January 1, 2018. Reservations already made will be honored.
