Aramark Leisure has retained the concessions contract at Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska/NPS

The National Park Service has chosen Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture to provide transportation, bus tour, retail, food and beverage, camping and other services under a new 10-year concession contract at Denali National Park and Preserve.

The JV is a current concessioner at Denali under a contract that expires at the end of this year.

Denali is among the most-visited national parks in Alaska, with more than 500,000 visitors each year. The JV will operate the fleet of buses that transport visitors into the interior of the park and serve the entrance area. More than 300,000 people ride the various bus systems every summer between late May and mid-September. The JV will also operate food service facilities in the park’s entrance area, campgrounds, and other smaller services for visitors.

A panel of technical experts selected the JV based on its response to key improvements desired by park management. For the visitor, this will mean enhanced services, including reservation upgrades, greater reliability in bus performance and greener operations from alternate-fuel powered buses and a re-energized recycling program. Park officials and JV management will work to finalize the deal and release details of the new contract in the coming months.

Aramark is also a lodging and tour boat concessions operator at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve.
